ADAS Calibration Services

With the introduction of Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS), vehicles manufactured today are more computerized than ever before. This means added complexity to the repair process. After a collision, these safety systems may be compromised and likely require calibration to ensure that they are returned to their OEM standard of operation.

How do I know if ADAS systems are working correctly?

Most ADAS systems do not have the functionality to signal an out-of-calibration condition and typically do not show an error code on the driver information centre or a DTC on a post-scan. Currently, the only way to ensure these systems are functioning properly is to perform a calibration on the vehicle.

What does it take to complete a proper ADAS calibration?

The technical data and steps required to correctly perform an ADAS calibration are continuously updated and vary between vehicle manufacturers. The calibrations require the use of special alignment tools, targets and diagnostic equipment. The OEM repair specifications of the vehicle dictate the procedures and environment conditions for calibrations.

On Target Calibration offers mobile ADAS services in the Okanagan area. Our technicians are able to perform a wide range of calibration types on site, providing the shop meets the minimum required conditions for the calibration being performed. On Target Calibration also has a facility conveniently located in Central Kelowna’s Landmark district. This dedicated facility offers specialized lighting, non-reflective flooring, and no object interference - just a few of the key features that allow us to accurately complete ADAS calibrations.

Our Process

1 REVIEW - The OEM repair procedures are reviewed for the vehicle. These outline the necessary conditions and requirements to calibrate to specification.

2 PRE-SCAN - The vehicle undergoes a complete diagnostic scan prior to any calibration work. This scan identifies any existing fault codes or pre-conditions that may prevent a successful calibration.

3 ASSESSMENT - The vehicle is checked to ensure there are no outstanding repairs or issues, and prepped for calibration, in accordance with ADAS standards.

4 CALIBRATION - The vehicle is calibrated using specialized ADAS tools and targets, as required.

5 POST-SCAN - A final post-calibration scan is conducted to ensure a successful calibration, along with a road test, if applicable.

6 REPORT - A comprehensive electronic report is supplied for the calibrated vehicle, along with a certificate of calibration.
